When your car is repossessed without your knowledge, you will have to pay repossession fees in addition to paying all or part of the contract balance. Repossession charges can include:
1. Towing charges,
2. Impounding charges,
3. Storage fees for storage of personal items that were in the vehicle at the time it was
repossessed, and
4. Charges for preparing a condition report.
If you offer to surrender your car voluntarily, you will not need a professional towing service and you will eliminate some fees.
