The repossesion company / legal owner can hold personal property up to 60 Days,sale,keep,give away or destroy after 60 days if items are unclaimed.This is the rule in most states for personal items.

Why don't you just go to the repo company office? Someone has to be at the office and that is, generally, where they keep all the items they remove from the vehicles they repossess. I've never heard of having to make an appointment with the repossession company in order to get your items returned to you. If you just show up at their office they will deal with you just to get you out of the way.

If you have not claimed the items in 60 days they will be free to destroy, sell or do whatever they want with the items. However, if they have refused to return the items then they cannot do that even after 60 days as they are violating the laws that state they must return the items if someone attempts to get them.

If they refuse to return the items when you visit their office tell them you're going to call the police and report it as theft now. That will get their butts moving. And if it doesn't, call the police and report it as theft as you said you would.
