Car repossession between 2 states I live in Tennessee and my car was repossessed two days ago. My car loan is with a place in Texas. I am trying to pay them what I owe them but they seem to be stalling with the whole thing. Is it possible they have transfered the car already to Texas and is that legal or is there a certain amount of time they have to wait? |

If you're behind they have the right to take the car. It is up to you to find out where the car is at and make arrangements to pay the repo fee and come current with the amount owed. Now, if you moved to TN without telling anyone, assuming you came form Texas, they are under no obligation to talk to you since you breached the contract. They will most likely auction the car in TN and sue you if they can't get the amounts due from the contract, repo and auction fees. I'd call now and see what can be done and make sure you get your personal items out of the vehicle - that they have to tell you where they can be claimed.
