Can the lender cancel the repossession? I have been behind in my car payments, but last week I paid to get me up to date. I used an express payment service that my lender told me to use. When I came home late Friday, I had a message from the repo man. I called my lender to find out they did not receive the money, it went to another department because I was given the wrong code. What do I do if he shows up? Can I object? If I can get this cleared up on Monday morning, can the lender cancel the repo? |

If the repo man shows up, took give him the car, call the police and show them the paperwork, if the car gets hooked in the night, the lender and repo man have some major legal issues but it won't cost you a dime and you may end up getting a few bucks back if you pitch a big enough fit. As soon as you talked to the lender and he realized the error was their problem, he had to contact the repo man immediately and call off the tow. Anything less than that is called negligence.
